St Stephens is 70
This year the Church of St Stephens the Martyr, Rednal is 70 years old.
On the 21st April 1951 our foundation stone was laid by Mrs Adelaide Barnes,
wife of the Bishop of Birmingham, Edwin Barnes.
70 Years of worship and service to the community has followed, and in this a
historic year we are celebrating our Church’s journey and place in Rednal life.
We are planning a variety of activities and events to celebrate this history, andwe need YOUR help.
You may be a current or past member of the Church, you may have been
baptised, confirmed or married at St Stephens.
You may have memories of groups or activities that you have been part of at
St Stephens at any time over the last 70 years.
If so, we would love to hear about them and, if you are happy to share them, tosee your photos or other souvenirs.

We have chosen a winner and the new flag will soon be raised for the first time over the church.

Photos and stories
This project is close to our hearts as we cannot wait to see the pictures and hear the stories that make up our shared history.
We are putting together an archive of photos and stories of St Stephens to keep, share and enjoy with the community.

70th Anniversary book
Over the year we aim to celebrate in what ever way we can our 70th anniversary. With our new flag, banners and collection of memories in hand, we aim to have a celebration service at the end of the year. For this we will also produce a service book to mark the culmination of our celebration.
